President, John Rubattino, is pleased to present the C.O.R.E. Foundation website to donors and volunteers in the Caribbean and abroad. Born in Washington, John first discovered his passion for the environment while exploring the Pacific Northwest coastline and forests. It was because of his father’s teachings that he began to cultivate an appreciation for the Earth’s complex and sensitive ecosystem. John went on to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Washington State University.
John has been an active diver since 1991, becoming certified as a PADI master scuba diver trainer. In 1998 he moved to St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands to continue his diving career. Intermittently, John became a USCG Certified 100-ton Master Merchant Mariner.
In his over 18 years of experience as a Scuba Instructor and light commercial diver, John has been witness to the relationships between marine species and their environment. It is John’s appreciation and admiration for the marine environment that foments his Presidency of the C.O.R.E. Foundation.
John is especially grateful for the work of his predecessor, Joesph Gulli, for creating the C.O.R.E. foundation. With the help of dedicated Board Members and volunteers, Joe made C.O.R.E into a foundation that exclusively and expertly handles marine conservation and education. John looks forward to a bright and productive future with C.O.R.E members and thanks everyone for their continued support.
