Coastal and inland Cleanups

Picture
2' X 60' storm pipe leading under the road was filled 3/4 with trash. Flash flooding helps continue to move the trash further down the mountain into the oceans.
To encourage better stewardship of our environment, we need to work together.

It is important that everyone makes an effort to clean up the environment around them.

Participating in local cleanups or just picking up trash in your neighborhood makes a positive difference.

Trash Disposal site had more garbage thrown over the hill away from dumpsters than actually in the dumpsters. Sailboat sail, beds, chairs, tires, water jugs to name a few items.

Each year throughout the U.S.V.I., C.O.R.E. volunteers work diligently educating others while participating in cleanups.

PictureAccumulated Trash in the Mangroves. Plastic, Styrofoam and Aluminum Cans were the dominating trash. All can be Recycled!

Our vision is to have everyone thinking about their immediate environment, then act upon it.

Batteries, tires, refrigerators, microwaves, beds, rope, plastic and furniture are just a few things that are seen on sides of roads or in the bush.  Many items such as batteries, chemicals and oil need to be disposed of in special depositories.  Items large and small can affect the environment negatively.  Discarded tires provide areas for infectious mosquito's to lay their eggs.
Unfortunately, many items are thrown away improperly every minute of every day.
