Help us manage the Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease Response effort:
Strike Teams are being trained to recognize corals that are highly susceptible to this devastating coral disease and how to administer scientifically proven amoxicillin treatment.
Please submit coral disease observations to: The Coral Health Report. To begin, you do not need to be an expert in coral identification or coral diseases to submit information. Please be as descriptive as possible if you see recently dead or dying coral. Better yet, include photos!

Help us manage the Lionfish Response effort:
Please submit your invasive Lionfish removals, sightings, and lionfish free areas to DPNR's Fish and Wildlife division.

Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease Initiative
Picture
Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) is a devastating issue in our beautiful Caribbean Coral Reefs. Originating in the Florida, the disease has made its way down to our tropical home. SCTLD affects over 20 species of hard corals like Brain Coral, Star Coral and Maze Coral, to name a few in the Caribbean marine ecosystem. This disease is having a significant impact on the oceanic ecosystem as it moves in an unprecedented rate of infection. Alarmingly, this disease has an extremely high rate of mortality, killing 80-100% of infected corals! In comparison, preexisting coral diseases such as White Plague and Black Band disease account for a sustainable 3% to 4% mortality rate.

Donate today and join the movement to save our coral reefs!

Marine Awareness Education
Picture
Marine Awareness Education provides interesting, interactive material along with programming to encourage proper stewardship.  The CORE Foundation is dedicated to encouraging stewardship and providing opportunities for future generations.  By coupling projects and equipment with youth groups, participants get hands on experience in different professional fields.
Caribbean Lionfish Response Program (CLRP)
Picture
The Caribbean Lionfish Response Program has been assisting with Invasive Lionfish Management since 2009.   Educational materials and training have been provided for the U.S.V.I., B.V.I. and Puerto Rico.  Programming has consisted of public awareness education, educational materials, training of invasive lionfish responders, maintaining a lionfish sighting network and implementing a lionfish response network.
